Isn’t it ironic that last summer this blog posted a report regarding the refusal of the Supreme Council to expel pro-abort politicians from the Knights? http://www.dfwcatholic.org/crcoa-chairman-says-pro-life-catholics-should-picket-knights-of-columbus-convention10385/.html. This report included a quote: “And after all, the late Cardinal John O’Connor once said the Knights do not have to wait for the bishops to discipline erring Knights.”

Brother Knights, should we attend a pro-life banquet hosting our current Supreme Grand Knight?

No, I don’t see the irony, especially as I posted this article.

The article you mentioned presents the suggestions of a particular group. While I personally agree with much of what offends Mr. Fisher and his organization, I do not belong to the group nor do I subscribe to many of its urgings. The group seems more anti-Knight than pro-life to me.

That article was about the Knight’s convention. This article is about an annual pro-life dinner, sponsored by my bishop and some VERY HARD WORKING PROLIFE people at the CPLC. This is NOT a KNIGHTS EVENT. However, the Knights of my local Chapter highly support this PROLIFE event which helps the efforts of the CPLC.

So my response is, Brother Knights and all who would call themselves “prolife”, harden not your hearts to this effort. Do not be distracted from the TRUE matter at hand - saving innocent lives!

Got something to say?
