DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
•On a regular weekly basis, Writing Consultants tutor individual students who have enrolled in weekly one-credit writing tutorials: WRIT 102 (students also enrolled in Introduction to College Writing), WRIT 115 (students also enrolled in First Year Studies classes), or WRIT 220 (students enrolled in upper-level writing intensive courses).

•Move the student toward independence in writing by fostering both competence and confidence.
Occasionally, the Writing Consultant may act as an intermediary between professor and students to assure that the student has understood the assignment and the written comments on the paper at hand, conferring directly with the professor if necessary.
Continue professional development by attending and presenting at conferences; reading professional journals and books, publishing educational materials, articles, or books; and membership in professional organizations.
