DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Office of Marketing & Communications seeks a talented and motivated Writer to support marketing, recruitment, and advancement strategies and initiatives:
•Serve as the University’s primary writer-write copy for a variety of marketing and recruitment publications, public relations, and the website.
•Oversee the University’s website, utilizing a web-based content management system, ensuring that website content is engaging, current and accurate.
•Serve as media liasion identifying public relations opportunities, writing press releases and disseminating news stories to the media on a timely basis.
•Manage and monitor the University’s social media presence, posting news, events and other information on the sites daily.
•Attend and cover campus events as needed, writing news stories, and taking photographs and videos. Some events occur outside of normal business hours.
Bachelor’s degree plus two years of professional writing experience in a marketing and communications environment (higher education preferred). Superior verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrated experience writing for a variety of marketing publications. Proficient use of Microsoft Office. Ability to multi-task in a deadline-driven environment.
