General Manager – Roles & Responsibilities

1. Marketing – Community Relations – Volunteers
Work with GRN senior management to develop a marketing strategy and plan – execute that strategy
Build & nurture relationship with Volunteers & Parish Representatives
Coordinate and conduct periodic training and/or status meetings with Volunteers
Develop a Volunteer group and enlist a Parish Representative from each Parish in the listening area.
Contact Parish Representatives and Catholic Organizations to ensure that ongoing announcements are being made about the stations
Have a presence at Parish events throughout the Archdioceses and Diocese as necessary to promote Guadalupe Radio
Visit and speak to local Catholic groups to promote Guadalupe Radio
Ensure that program guides, station cards, bumper stickers and other marketing materials are available at the Parishes; place banners at Parishes (if allowed)
Cultivate Calls to Stations
For all callers, take contact information
Include comments from caller
Pass information on to the person responsible for database

2. Fundraising
Conduct ongoing fundraising for the following 6 areas:
Develop, maintain and increase station advertiser base
Donations and Grants
Parish Presentations/Fundraising (with Pastors permission, conduct Talks after Mass on weekends and pass out pledge cards)
Presentations to Catholic Organizations
Radiothon Matching Gifts
Meet & Greets

3. Programming – PSA’s and Advertiser Announcements
Work with GRN senior management to develop local show and programming
Coordinate frequent and overall recording and preparation of timely PSA’s and Advertiser announcements
Contact Archdioceses, Diocese, Parishes and Catholic Organizations to air announcements at no charge
Contact the Archdiocesan and Diocesan newspapers to coordinate announcements

4. Station Operations – “On Air” Performance
Work with GRN senior management to set up Program to monitor status of station’s “on air” performance
Meet highest possible listening standard
Identify shortfalls, and correct/troubleshoot as required in coordination with senior management
Set criteria for “listening standard” and maintaining a fresh sound quality
Review and action EWTN e-mails regarding program changes
Identify performance shortfalls and problems, and communicate to Director of Radio Operations
Work consistently to promote and maintain the branding of the GRN
Work with Director of Radio Operations regarding Simian and editing software training

5. FCC Compliance
Ensure Public Files are maintained in accordance with FCC guidelines
Ensure EAS reports are documented weekly
Report to Director of Radio Operations any problems with EAS reports
Compile summary checklist of FCC actions that are being conducted, which we are required to perform
Ensure Public File is available from 8 AM to 5 PM Monday through Friday

6. Process Improvement and Efficiency Recommendations
Monitor & assess operations on an ongoing basis
Make ongoing recommendations for:
Improvement to operations
Cost efficiency improvement opportunities
Implementation of operational efficiency improvements through computer and/or technology solutions
Advise of operating needs/supplies needed to complete work in the most efficient and productive manner

7. General
Assist with any other duties that are determined to be beneficial by GRN management (0)
