“That on you is fallen the shadow,
And not upon the Name;
That though we
scatter and though we fly,
And you hang over us like the sky,
You are more
tired of victory,
Than we are tired of shame.
“That though you hunt
the Christian man
Like a hare on the hill-side,
The hare has still more
heart to run
Than you have heart to ride.
“That though all lances
split on you,
All swords be heaved in vain,
We have more lust again to
lose
Than you to win again.
G.K. Chesterton, Ballad of the White Horse
Well, the inauguration of President Obama for his second term has occurred and the supporters of the Left in this country are as happy as the perpetually disgruntled can be. They should enjoy their moment in the sun, it will be brief. The Cult of Obama got him re-elected but it cannot alter the fact that his policies have been a flat disaster for the nation. Unlike all Presidents but one, Obama begins his second term with the support of fewer people than those who cast ballots for him in 2008. Political ideology and a sycophantic mainstream media can only defy reality for so long and after this administration crashes and burns we will be around to pick up the pieces.
