VIDEO PRODUCTION – GRAPHIC ARTIST

The Video Production/Graphic Artist will be responsible for filming, producing, and editing videos for distribution and publication on our website, in ads, and for our social media accounts. Candidates must be proficient in video editing and graphic design. The ideal candidate will have experience in subtitling, caption creation, and in adding effects to maximize videos’ impact. Experience in photography, photo-editing, and animation creation a plus but not required.
This position reports to the Communications Director and works closely with our staff and partner programs.
Applicants must be able to use Adobe Creative Suite for PC for video editing and graphic design or provide their own alternative. We will have Adobe Premier Pro, Encore, Audition, and Aftereffects available as well as Photoshop and Illustrator for video editing.
-Edit and caption videos taken by staff while in the field
-Shoot footage at events or interviews
-Create informational videos using photos, sound bites, and captions
-Design and create images for social media and advertising campaigns
-Work together with the communications department and partner organizations in the production of video content and images on the work of the organization
-Assist with updating and maintaining the Youtube channel and managing promotion strategies
-Conduct interviews and film testimonials and other short videos related to our work
-Manage multimedia content on Drupal, Joomla, or WordPress websites
2-4 years hands-on experience with video production: including capture, lighting, editing and encoding.
Working knowledge of HTML, Adobe Creative Suite, including InDesign and a proven understanding of all aspects of Adobe Premiere Pro. Must be fluent with both the Mac Operating System and Windows 7.
Requires creative inclination for developing short, impactful, original video pieces. Broad understanding of media file types, usage, benefits and limitations as related to online downloads, streaming and mobile optimization. Portfolio of work should include a range of project types and roles – video production, team member, maintenance, graphic design, etc. The ideal candidate will take initiative, be self-directed, and also have an ability to quickly learn new techniques and master new hardware and software.
