TRANSLATOR – SPANISH TO ENGLISH
Publishing/Journalism, PT Contract
Claretian Missionaries Serv Corp (Primarily Telecommuting, CA)
A Catholic religious congregation is looking for a person to help in the translation of community documents from Spanish to English.
The ideal person will have English as their mother tongue, a good command of both English and Spanish grammar and be able to translate from written Spanish into written English suitable for publication.
The materials to be translated are congregational documents and publications that include religious books, newsletters, formal letters, small booklets, et al.
This person should already have a good knowledge of Catholic ecclesiastical vocabulary. In addition, the candidate must have excellent knowledge of MS Word, good Internet and research skills, and be able to work within a team as well as independently. At least five years of experience in doing translation work is preferred. This is an ideal job for a retired teacher/professor of Spanish.
The translation work can be done remotely from your home office. Materials will be transferred electronically and in some cases will need to be picked up at the Claretian office. Therefore, it is necessary that the right candidate live within a drivable distance from Temple City, California. Attendance at periodic meetings in that area would also be required.
Compensation depends on projects undertaken.
