For the past 30 years approximately 10,000+ students have attended Aggie Awakening retreats. This weekend we are celebrating by hosting a reunion/conference for former students at the same time the retreat will be taking place.
Awakening is a cursillo-based retreat that was started at McNeese State in Lake Charles, LA. It then moved to LSU and then to Texas A&M. The two Awakening retreats in Louisiana stopped after several years, so Aggie Awakening is now the longest-running and the “mother-ship” of Awakenings (for a longer history of the retreat, click here.)
Through the years the retreat has spread across the nation and there are now dozens around the country, in 13 different states.
We ask you to join us in prayer as students come to retreat and former students come to celebrate, pray, and remember God’s power.
