TEACHER OF FRENCH AND SPANISH (LONG-TERM SUBSTITUTE)

Padua Academy (Wilmington, DE)

Padua Academy, a four year, Catholic, college preparatory high school for young women located in Wilmington, Delaware, has a long-term substitute opening for a Teacher of French and Spanish to fill a maternity leave for the 2014-2015 academic year.

Preferred applicants will have:
A commitment to the values of the Catholic faith
A Bachelor’s degree in world language, world language education, or related discipline
World language teaching experience at the secondary level
A strong commitment to student-centered pedagogies
Proficiency in 21st century classroom technologies
Delaware Certification in Secondary World Language Education
Job responsibilities include:
Designing and executing lessons and assessments to maximize student learning
Evaluating student work to provide meaningful feedback
Creating a classroom environment that facilitates communication in the target language
Differentiating instruction to meet student needs
Partnering with Administration, counselors, faculty, and parents for student success
Communicating with Administration and World Language Department to facilitate the transition process
