Special Rosary on Good Friday

April 2, 2010

Little Elm, TX (MetroCatholic) – I get quite a few e-mails directing me to do this or that, requesting one thing or another. Some of these have mysterious “blessings”, “hexes”, “rewards”, or “punishments” attached. Needless to say, most get deleted, and some are never opened at all.

However, I received an e-mail from a friend, who received it from another friend (and so on) that is different. It carries no guaranteed prize or fortune. It is not promoted by fear of not being passed along. It is, though, a wonderful idea. Here it is:

Hi Everyone,

So, on Good Friday, let us all pray a Rosary for peace in the world and the return of moral values into our communities. If possible, please pray your Rosary between Noon and 3:00pm.

Also, please e-mail this message to every Catholic on your address list, and ask them to pass it along to every Catholic on their lists. Let’s unite in praying one of the most powerful prayers in existence, for these intentions, on one of the holiest days in our Church year.

Imagine what might happen if every Catholic in the world would pray a Rosary on the same day! We have an example in October of 1573, when Europe was saved from the invasion of the mighty Turkish fleet, by the praying of the Rosary by all Christians!

God bless you all

Are you Catholic and over the age of 18? Have you said the Rosary Prayer at least once in the past year? If so, please take part in an anonymous research study online that examines the place of the Rosary Prayer in Catholic individuals’ lives. To participate in this doctoral research study, click the following link: https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/rosaryprayer Participation is anonymous and free of charge.

As God has done so much for us by His love and compassion, giving us His only Son to be crucified on the cross for the salvation of our sins so that we one day we may share in the glory of God in heaven, let us as Christians especially on this day reflect not on what we don’t do but on what do we do to make ourselves more Christ like. Do something good today in honor of the crucified Christ.

Got something to say?
