The University of Notre Dame (ND.jobs) is accepting applications for a Senior Producer.
This position is responsible for providing creative direction, production oversight and overall leadership for Notre Dame’s Faith Television Initiative. This includes collaborating with multiple internal and/or external constituent groups to form and implement strategy, identify stories that promote Catholic values, lead video production and to cultivate viewership through compelling content. This position will be responsible for identifying, hiring and managing appropriately skilled individuals to deliver continuous improvement. It is also responsible for cultivating partnerships and managing the financial success of the endeavor. This position will have a dotted-line reporting relationship with the Senior Associate Athletic Director for Digital Media.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
*Participate in the creation and lead the implementation of the creative direction and strategic plan for the FaithTV initiative that is consistent with Notre Dame and Catholic values. Report to and collaborate with the office of the Vice President for Mission Engagement on a regular basis to ensure coordination of messaging and long-term goals are being accomplished.
*Lead content development and production. Cultivate a culture of ‘story-telling’, identifying compelling ideas and transforming them into multimedia content. Identify and cultivate collaborative opportunities with national, regional and local partners to create or acquire content.
*Strategize and develop appropriate digital distribution platforms including website, video channel, mobile, social media and others relevant to the target audience. Develop and implement branding and marketing strategies that are based on competitive analysis and market research.
*Develop an efficient production staff and workflow, including student involvement. Manage video production duties such as writing, directing, shooting and editing for content distributed online or television. Collaborate on technology and equipment usage and procurement with university digital media leadership.
*Manage a defined budget and ensure fiscal responsiblity for operation. Identify and implement revenue generating ideas and partnerships.
Deep knowledge of the Catholic faith and experience working in a religious organization. Familiarity and experience working in a creative environment producing high quality content. Experience in broadcast or other media production is helpful.
Master’s degree or Bachelor’s degree (5 years) or advanced certification beyond Bachelor’s.
7 or more years of experience.
Experience in video production and/or related field.
Strategic thinking. Strong organizational and communications skills. Collaborative management style. Ability to work effectively within a diverse population. Strong writing background. Ability to manage financial expenditures and drive revenue. Willingness to work non-traditional work hours including some evenings and weekends.
