MRS Resource Specialist – Part-time (20 hours/week)

Catholic Charities Migration and Refugee Services program is seeking a part-time (20 hours/week) Resource Specialist in its Arlington office. The Resource Specialist recruits, trains and coordinates volunteers to assure refugees and asylees are resettled timely, receive requisite core services to assist in their acclimation to the United States, and thrive in their new home. The Resource Specialist also develops community relationships to acquire donated supplies for newly-arrived families, maintains a donor database, and tracks all donations. Finally, during periods of peak refugee arrivals, the Resource Specialist may assist Case Managers in finding housing for refugees. Because the populations served are in the greater Arlington and Alexandria areas, the successful applicant will be familiar with Arlington, Alexandria and surrounding northern Virginia communities.

MRS carries out the commitment of the US Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) to serve and advocate for refugees, asylees, forced migrants, immigrants, and other people on the move. MRS provides assistance to these most vulnerable people through resettlement services, employment services, and educational services – all rooted in the Gospel mandate that every person is to be welcomed as if he or she were Christ Himself.
