The principal is the chief academic officer of grades 7 through 12 with responsibility for hiring, supervising, and evaluating teachers; for directing assessment of curriculum and implementing curricular advancement; and for working with other administrative staff in assuring the academic and financial stability of the schools.

Cotter Schools seeks a principal who possesses strong leadership skills that inspire excellence and cooperation from all constituent groups, and who demonstrates: (1) a positive conviction about the value of a faith-based education, (2) comprehensive knowledge of curriculum and instructional strategies, (3) the ability to promote a positive school culture, (4) commitment to a strong and rigorous academic program, and (5) dedication to ongoing school improvement processes.

Applicants must possess a personal commitment to the Catholic faith and demonstrate a passion for Catholic secondary education and its role in the development of the whole student. The successful applicant will embrace the mission of Cotter Schools, and be committed to collaborating with the President in implementing the values of community, scholarship, leadership, and service.

Applicants should possess a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership or a related field, and Principal Certification in Minnesota. Experience in secondary education administration is preferred. Salary is negotiable commensurate with education and experience. Applications will be reviewed beginning on February 1, 2013 and interviews scheduled within two weeks.
