St. Isaac Jogues Catholic School (www.sijschool.org), a premier K-8 Catholic school in the Diocese of Joliet, is searching for a dynamic and collaborative Principal to lead the school community in the areas of faith formation, academics, technology, and faculty development. The school, which enrolls 470 students, is a respected and integral component of a large and vibrant parish and is ideally situated in west-suburban Hinsdale, Illinois. The school’s programs are designed to ensure that every graduate is formed in faith, educated in excellence, and sent to serve.
At St. Isaac Jogues, all students are actively engaged in an integrated faith-based curriculum that is both comprehensive and rigorous. Challenging academic courses are aligned with state and national standards as well as with the National Standards and Benchmarks for Effective Catholic Elementary and Secondary Schools. A variety of before and after-school programs and activities are structured to meet the needs of each child.
St. Isaac Jogues Catholic School aspires to remain a leader in academic excellence among both public and private suburban institutions of learning. To realize this goal, the new Principal must be an experienced and committed leader, demonstrating expertise in curriculum development, the use of technology in instruction, team building, faculty development, strategic planning, and effective elementary school management.
The new Principal of St. Isaac Jogues will be responsible for enhancing the school’s legacy of academic success and student achievement while continuously strengthening and promoting its Catholic identity and adherence to Church teachings. The successful applicant will lead with a clear vision and possess exceptional communication skills, energy, and a passion for Catholic education. He/she will be a confident, approachable, and resilient educational leader who has demonstrated success in forging strong relationships with the Pastor, students, parents, faculty, staff, and community leaders.
A qualified applicant must be a faith-filled, practicing Catholic, possess an advanced degree in educational leadership, hold a current Illinois Professional Educator License with General Administrative and/or Superintendent Endorsements (or qualify for same), and have at least 3-5 years of successful administrative experience, preferably in a Catholic school. Most importantly, a successful applicant is expected to adhere to all principles of the Catholic faith and to promote the best interests of the Catholic Church. Position is available July 1, 2014. Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience.
