The Roman Catholic Diocese of Brooklyn has an employment opportunity in the Office of the Territorial Vicars. The Pastoral Support Specialist (for Brooklyn) will provide high-level field and office support allowing the Vicars to focus on assignments delegated by the Diocesan Bishop. The Pastoral Support Specialist must be able to work with minimal day-to-day oversight and the role includes administrative functions such as coordinating and organizing activities and schedules, conducting research, providing field summary reports, preparing statistical reports for the Diocesan Bishop and Curial offices.
The Support Specialist (Brooklyn) functions as the field project manager for the Chaplaincy Program and works in close coordination with the Director of Clergy Personnel to develop working relationships with administration of hospital and healthcare facilities within the Diocese of Brooklyn. In addition the Support Specialist (Brooklyn) will work in close coordination with the Territorial Vicars to facilitate task groups to address areas of concern articulated by Deans regarding Chaplaincy.
Candidates must possess a college degree, advanced degree preferred, in addition to relevant professional experience. Successful candidates will have knowledge of Church environment and the tenets of the Catholic faith, as well as a proficient understanding of the structure of the Diocese. Bilingual is an asset.
