Job Title: Pastoral Associate for Communications, Development, and Stewardship
Job Location: Grand Junction, Colorado
For more than 50 years, Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish has served all people of good will through Catholic faith, hope, and charity. We are ready to hire our first development staff member and are looking for a terrific candidate to join our team.
Working with pastor to develop and implement a parish-wide stewardship plan and goals.
Creating initial development office.
For the first 6-12 months, priority tasks will be:
Fundraising (including reaching or exceeding annual fundraising goals, donor acquistion and retention, and supervising administrative functions related to development, including data entry and data management, letter generation, and more)
Generosity (including activating, recruiting, acknowledging, training, cultivating, scheduling, retaining, appreciating, and renewing volunteers, ministers, and donors)
Treasure (including spontaneous giving, community giving, special planned giving, short-term project giving, weekly and monthly giving, annual budget giving, enduring giving, and diocesan and national giving projects)
Salary & Benefits:
Salary is negotiable (beginning at $36,000) and based on experience. Increases based on success across several markers/metrics.
Generous benefits package with healthcare and days off.
40-50 hours per week, including 1 weekend per month, and 5 evenings per month.
Encounter new and varied work situations.
Co-determine with pastor appropriate practices and contribute to development of new concepts.
Operate collaboratively with fellow parish staff.
Responsible for some decision-making within area of professional expertise.
Bachelor degree required, Master degree preferred.
Experience in a one-person development shop preferred.
Proven track record of fundraising especially with individual campaigns.
Excellent interpersonal and writing skills.
Practical Christian in good standing and an active steward in one’s parish.
Knowledge and acceptance of Catholic teachings and practice, and familiarity with Church structures, functions, and institutions.
