We seek a person with strong sacramental liturgical training and a passion for engaging others in liturgy. This is a 30+ hour per week position, with salary and full benefits per Seattle Archdiocesan scale

A. Leadership and coordination
• Directs the parish worship programs, in collaboration with the pastor and presiders
• Assures training, performance monitoring and faith enhancement for all laity who participate in the celebration of the Mass as liturgical ministers, choir members or musicians, members of the environment team, altar servers or sacristans.
o Constantly seeks to incrementally improve the quality of parish liturgies and the engagement of worshipers
o Supervises the work of the various Music Coordinators and collaborates with them to assure appropriate music in a variety of musical genres (i.e. sacred, classical, traditional, chant, contemporary, and rock) for the various Masses
o Consuls (and when appropriate removes) a volunteer, stipended individual or employee who does not meet quality standards
• Key member of the Liturgy Commission, and through it coordinates the various liturgical ministries which participate in producing weekend Masses and special liturgies, and the Environment Committee, to produce high quality and seasonally appropriate liturgies
• Serves as Team Leader for the Liturgy and Spirituality work team, within the Pastoral Team (aka parish staff)
• Recruits and develops leaders for the various liturgical ministries
• Fosters collaboration between the various liturgical ministry groups and the steward for parishioner talents to assure full volunteer staffing of the various liturgical ministries
• Collaborates with other members of the pastoral team to support their workshops and retreats through development of para-liturgies and other spirituality-building exercises
• Collaborates with the pastor, staff, and consultative bodies in implementing the mission of the parish

B. Liturgy Support
• Secures and schedules clergy, as needed, to preside at scheduled Masses, reconciliations, youth retreats, and other events, as requested
• Produces the weekly script for weekend Masses, in collaboration with other pastoral team members
• Oversees the purchase and supply of hosts, wine, sacred vessels, vestments, other liturgical supplies and music
• Supervises the maintenance of musical instruments (i.e. annual piano tuning)
• Coordinates with the director of Evangelism and Communications to assure the sound and video systems of the worship space provide effective service to the worshiping community
• Prepares and administers the annual liturgy budget
• Coordinates with other pastoral team members for liturgies or portions of liturgies for which they are responsible (i.e. funerals, weddings, baptisms).
