The Archdiocese of Philadelphia is currently seeking a Part-time, Temporary Event Planner to work for our Office for New Evangelization in Archdiocesan Pastoral Center in Philadelphia, PA. This position is primarily responsible for assisting the Director in planning and organizing the Catholic Life Congress.
This event planner position is a part-time (10 hours per week) and temporary position (November 2013-June 2014).
The major job responsibilities include:
Planning and organizing the logistics of the Catholic Life Congress.
Planning and implementing a schedule for the Catholic Life Congress.
Coordinating the day of the Congress including room assignments, crowd movement, hospitality, registration tables, A-V needs. Communicating with the Sheraton Hotel and the Cathedral for coordination of Mass, keynote and breakouts, hotel arrangements, parking, and catering.
Coordinating volunteers who will assist with hospitality and information.
Managing speaker travel, accommodations and hospitality.
Working with ONE’s Program Coordinator to create Program Book content and worship aid.
Following up with planning committee members for completion of tasks.
Attending all Catholic Life Congress planning meetings.
Performing all tasks and duties as assigned.
Associate’s Degree in a related field is required.
2 years of experience in large event planning.
High competency with Microsoft Office programs: Word, Publisher, Excel
Highly organized and able to complete tasks on time.
Good time-management skills.
Computer access and wireless internet at home*
*With the exception of the planning meetings, the majority of this work can be done from home.
