The Diocese of Venice in Florida is seeking experienced candidates for the position of Parish Director of Religious Education.

The successful candidate must be an active Catholic experienced in catechesis; prefer graduate degree in theology or religious studies;
3-5 years administrative experience in parish religious education.

The parish director of religious education assists the Pastor/Administrator in planning catechetical programs to meet both short and long term goals; is responsible for facilitating the spiritual and religious formation of catechists; coordinates the sacramental preparation programs in the parish including RCIA; acts as liaison between the parish and the Diocesan Office of Catechetical Ministry and assumes other duties as assigned by the Pastor/Administrator.

The parish director of religious education is expected to have a thorough knowledge of the teachings and traditions and Catechism of the Catholic Church; be familiar with current teaching technologies, differentiated instruction, age-appropriate teaching methods and forms of instruction for those with special needs.
