Papal Charity Gifts $2M to Latin America

A papal charity founded in 1992 by Pope John Paul II has concluded its annual meeting in Peru, approving grants equaling some $2 million. The Populorum Progressio Foundation studied 222 proposals during their June 17-21 meeting. Of those, they chose 171 to receive aid.
