Ohio Supreme Court’s Decision Protects Privacy of Abusers Says Fr. Pavone

Father Frank Pavone

Staten Island, NY (MetroCatholic) – Fr. Frank Pavone, National Director of Priests for Life, issued the following comment in response to the Ohio Supreme Court’s refusal to make redacted medical records available in a case of alleged failure to report child abuse.

“It’s hypocritical for the Ohio Supreme Court to be concerned about the privacy of girls receiving abortions at Planned Parenthood when, by keeping the redacted, anonymous records secret, it is in fact protecting the privacy of older men who abuse underage teens.  The Court, by its decision, is enabling and perpetuating injustice.”

I have been blessed to often see Fr. Frank Pavone on EWTN, at many Pro Life rallies and consider him a wonderful role model for Catholics. He may seem “outspoken” to some, but most of us see his genuine love and concern, not only for the unborn, but for women who have experienced abortion. I believe there is a need for men to step up to the plate where this issue is concerned. In my opinion, men today are not held responsible for the trend to get what you want with no regard for the dignity of another. A true man will forget about controlling others and practice self-control. If this were practiced more faithfully, the women who seek abortions wouldn’t be faced with the dilemma of choosing between raising a child alone or killing the child she carries within her womb.

Got something to say?
