The Media Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating key communications functions for Missionary Benedictine Sisters of Norfolk (MBS). Media Coordinator will work closely, through development phase, with the Public Relations firm to execute timelines, promote and publicize on a variety of social media platforms, and write content to support projects that include: development, vocation and local community events to extend our public impression and increase awareness for Missionary Benedictine Sisters (MBS) of Norfolk and MBS on a global level.
The Media Coordinator must thrive in a fast-paced environment with limited supervision, and quickly comprehend and act on changing priorities when necessary. Ability to manage database, contribute to promotional materials, as assigned, and assist in the collection of information from other MBS communities across the globe.
This position is the primary contact between the designated Public Relations firm and other programmatic areas, and must demonstrate superior customer service, interpersonal communication and written communication skills.
Minimum Required Qualifications:
• Writing experience for newsletters, social media, and web management
• Preferred Bachelor’s degree in Journalism or related field, Associates degree acceptable with experience
• Database software experience helpful
• Sound understanding of Catholicism
