The First Sunday after Pentecost

The Most Holy Trinity

Solemnity

14 The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ and the love of God and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all” (2 Cor. 13:14). [1]

Today is the solemnity of The Most Holy Trinity. It falls on the first Sunday after Pentecost as we come to celebrate the mystery of the Triune God. Liturgically, we have returned to Ordinary Time; yet with a deeper sense of the recent Paschal mysteries, we are encouraged to, “…be open to the action of divine Grace, to progress in love of God and of neighbour.” [2]

The mystery of The Most Holy Trinity is the central mystery of the Christian faith and life, through which we learn who the one true God is and how He reveals himself to mankind as well as, “…reconciles and unites himself to men.” [3]
