Mar 04, Only 1 days to Lent! Let’s take a look at the great Lenten journey ahead!

This is a syndicated post from Divine Office - Liturgy of the Hours of the Roman Catholic Church. [Read the original article...]

“May the Holy Spirit, through whom we are “as poor, yet making many rich; as having nothing, and yet possessing everything” (2 Cor 6:10), sustain us in our resolutions and increase our concern and responsibility for human destitution, so that we can become merciful and act with mercy. In expressing this hope, I likewise pray that each individual member of the faithful and every Church community will undertake a fruitful Lenten journey. I ask all of you to pray for me. May the Lord bless you and Our Lady keep you safe.” (Today’s quote from Pope Francis’ Lenten message)

Reflection:
We, at Divineoffice.org, wish all of you a fruitful Lenten journey! And let all of us open our minds to look around and understand, our hearts to love and empathize, our hands to help one another.

Today is Mardi Gras or Fat Tuesday, as it is known in English, a long-standing tradition of the Catholic Church, and it marks the last day of ordinary time before the start of Lent, a time of fasting and repentance.

Mardi Gras is also a day to give thanks for all the good things in our lives. For all creation, for our family and all those who we love, for our faith, for the mystery of God’s love, for the food we are about to eat.

Our message is still the same: join us and share your thought with others, so we can all draw inspiration from each other, on how we can prepare our hearts, minds and bodies in the Lenten journey toward Easter.

This is a journey none of us should walk alone. We all can help those who need to intensify their prayer life. We offer a bit of help: Divineoffice app is discounted 25% until Ash Wednesday. Here: divine-office.com
