The John Paul II Catholic Newman Center in Bloomington/Normal, IL is praying and searching for a full time male campus minister. The John Paul II Catholic Newman Center, under the auspices of our beloved, Bishop Daniel Jenky, C.S.C., D. D. primarily reaches out to students at Illinois State University but it also serves students at Illinois Wesleyan University and Heartland Community College. This Newman center strives to reach as many students as we are able, introduces them to Jesus Christ truly present in the Blessed Sacrament, teaches students to pray and the saving Truths of the Catholic Faith and forms them to lead at the Center, and when they graduate to make of themselves a gift for the Lord wherever He calls them.

The JPIICNC is currently looking for a young man with a great desire and ability to evangelize students at a large State University. Additionally, the young man should be one who loves the Catholic Church, has a heart for ministry, a desire to reach the lost on a college campus, one who is able to lead by his words and by his example, one who desires to be a role model for the young men he reaches out to, and one willing to work as part of a close-knit team. The male campus minister will report to the Director of the Center and work together as a team with the other ministry and office staff to reach out to the lost or fallen away on campus. The applicant should be a man of prayer and with a great love for the Teachings of the Church.

Some of his responsibilities will likely include: creating evangelization opportunities, leading evangelization teams on the campuses several times a week, leading retreats for young men, spiritually guiding young men, leading a small group discussion for the men after the Center’s weekly Bible Study Faith Sharing group, create healthy social activities on a weekly basis to reach out to new students, be able to teach and or communicate the Faith.
