Pope John Paul the Great Catholic High School is seeking a Junior It Specialist.

The school, the newest high school in the Diocese of Arlington, is located in Dumfries, Virginia and is rooted in the Dominican traditions of study, prayer, community and service. Pope John Paul the Great is committed to the formation of young people with special emphasis on the ethical development of our students.

Job Responsibilities Include:
• First line help desk support. Assist faculty and staff with IT problems involving workstations, projectors, software, printers, and other classroom information technologies
• Monitor and assist in managing the school LAN and ISP networks
• Monitor and manage data backups and recovery
• Monitor and manage A/V and Patch management systems

Skills Required:
• Completion of degree or certification in technology field
• Comfortable level of experience with Windows networks (AD), Windows Server 2008, and Windows 7
• Experience with basic hardware maintenance (replacing hard-drives, memory, etc.)
• Good organization and record-keeping skills
• Good communication and personal skills

Preferred Skills:
• Familiarity Active Directory and Group Policies
• Familiarity with wireless networks (Currently have Aerohive deployment)
• Experience with Network hardware (switches/routers) and configuration (VLANs and firewalls)
