Position Summary:
The Archdiocese of Saint Louis has an opportunity for an Interactive Media Specialist. We are a charitable organization that encompasses 185 parishes, 146 schools, and a Catholic population of more than 500,000. This position is located at the Cardinal Rigali Center, which is in Shrewsbury, MO.

The Interactive Media Specialist assists in the communication and evangelization efforts for the Archdiocese of St. Louis through the development, maintenance, and utilization of appealing, engaging, and cutting-edge electronic, visual art, social media components, and other interactive media platforms.

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Execute all tasks as assigned by the Director of Marketing and Mission Awareness
• Create and maintain engaging and visually appealing quality web components and content that support the mission of the Catholic Church, specifically the Archdiocese of St. Louis, including video, photographic, and social media content highlighting the work of the Church
• Work collaboratively with other members of the Communications staff to further multimedia communication efforts in support of the Archdiocese of St. Louis Communications Strategy
• Liaison with the Office of Information Technology as needed
• Implement search engine optimization (SEO) on all archdiocesan websites
• Maintain an appealing and cutting-edge appearance of all electronic points of contact between the Archdiocese of St. Louis and end user

Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree in web development, graphic arts, journalism, or related field required
• Knowledge and understanding of social media outlets/tools and the expertise to creatively and successfully engage those tools
• Experience with both PC and Mac preferred
• Experience with Final Cut preferred
• Experience with graphic design and proficiency with Adobe suite
• Understanding of working web design required, with experience using Adobe Suite design programs (Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.)
• Experience in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, XML, SQL required. Experience with HTML5 preferred
• Understanding of content management systems required, with preferable experience in Drupal, WordPress or similar systems
• Video shooting and editing of web-ready videos is preferred
• Top-notch design and visual art skills that are cutting edge and speak to tomorrow, not yesterday
• Can successfully integrate various platforms of communication into one solid message on behalf of the Archdiocese of St. Louis
• Possess understanding of how each communications platform can be used for disseminating messages
• Experience creating podcasts and/or other audio files is preferred
