St. Mary’s High School, a Catholic co-educational parish school of 500 students and 50 faculty and staff, is seeking a PRINCIPAL to guide our school in leading the way in Catholic values and academic excellence. Opened in 1946, St. Mary’s High School is part of a unique, waterfront, K-12 campus in the heart of historic Annapolis, Maryland. In the spirit of the School Sisters of Notre Dame, St. Mary’s seeks to foster and model Christian values founded in love of God, self and others.
The school seeks qualified applicants with strong interpersonal skills, a keen sense of community and a commitment to actively support all school and parish activities. The Principal is the chief administrator of the high school and reports to the parish Pastor. Overseeing all academic programs, the Principal directs the professional development of the faculty in carrying out the school’s Catholic educational mission. The Principal works collaboratively with the Elementary School Principal and Parish Senior Staff in the allocation of shared resources and facilities as well as in the general administration and coordination of all St. Mary’s Schools activities.
Qualifications: A successful candidate should be a practicing Catholic, and have a master’s degree in administration, supervision, curriculum development, or education. A minimum of five years teaching experience at the appropriate level and three years or more of administrative experience in a Catholic or private school is preferred. Appropriate State of Maryland Administrator certification will be a condition of employment. The deadline for application submission is January 31, 2014.
