Happy Birthday Jennifer!

July 3, 2009

Today, July 3rd, is my sister, Jennifer’s, birthday.  I am asking everyone to celebrate this day with me by including Jennifer in your prayers.  And before you ask, no, she isn’t sick.  Jennifer is my rock.  A convert to Catholicism as a teen, Jennifer lives a Catholic life.  She is raising five beautiful children in a solid marriage.  She and her husband ensure that all of their children get a Catholic education and that comes first before material things that many of us give priority to.  Sunday Mass is a must even if it means they get the  stare due to a less-than-enthusiastic infant or toddler acting up.  Oh, by the way, she also works more than full time outside the home as a substance abuse counselor trying to help God’s children “get clean.”  I could go on and on about all the reasons for which I admire Jennifer but for today, if she reads this, I want to wish her a happy birthday and want to tell her how much I love her and how much she means to me.
