Fighting the Freedom of Choice Act

November 19, 2008

Dallas, TX (DFW Catholic) - The CPLC has a list of several things that can be done to stop FOCA. A message on the organization’s website states:

The Freedom of Choice Act (FOCA) would remove all restrictions or regulations against abortion that state legislatures and the Federal Congress have ever enacted. This includes things like Parental Consent and Parental Notification laws, which have shown to reduce the rates of abortions in minor girls, waiting period laws, freedom of conscience laws which allow pharmacists, doctors and nurses to not practice medicine against their conscience, and many other laws as well.

President-elect Obama has promised to sign FOCA as the first act of his Presidency.
