Position Available: Female Residence Director, Gaming Austria Program – SG4
Department: Student Life
Hours: Full time; evenings and weekends; live-in position
Position Reports to: Director of Student Life – Austrian Program

RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Manage a staff of six Resident Assistants including recruitment and selection, training, development, supervision, and evaluation;
2. Supervise opening and closing of St. Francis House;
3. Educate and administer policies within the residence hall; implement disciplinary interventions with hall residents; assist with conflict resolution and crisis intervention;
4. Oversee community development within the hall that addresses the intellectual, spiritual, interpersonal, recreational, and social needs of the residents; refer residents to appropriate pastoral, academic support and counseling resources;
5. Interact with the Austrian Embassy, and other student leaders/groups to provide support and guidance;
6. Carry out other delegated projects as part of the Residence Life staff. Assist with planning and conducting orientation of new students.
7. Supervise student workers involved in St. Francis House (SWOP students);
8. Help provide leadership during the Rome and Assisi trip and other excursions;
9. Assist Austrian Program personnel in providing multiple spontaneous services, (i.e. airport runs, Parents’ Week hosting of visitors, equipment purchasing, etc.)

QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Bachelor’s Degree is required, preferably in a discipline relevant to residence life; a Master’s Degree in student personnel or related field preferred.
2. Able to make a two year commitment to the position;
3. Understand, embrace, and live out of the Christian values expressed in the Mission Statement of Franciscan University; be a role model of Christian character and service;
4. Residence life staff experience with one year of full time staff experience preferred;
5. Experience with the Austrian program preferred;
6. Facility in the German language preferred;
7. Possess a valid driver’s license and the ability to operate a motor vehicle;
8. Evidence of strong organizational and interpersonal skills;
9. Experience in administration/management, supervision, and leadership development;
10. Capacity to cope with the unique challenges of a live-in position;

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Effective communications, both written and oral;
2. Problem-solving with staff, students & parents;
3. Crisis intervention in the residence halls and on campus;
4. Organization and planning of events, activities, projects;
5. Development and explanation of policies;
6. Developmental interventions with residents;
7. Planning, leading, and decision-making in hall staff meetings;
8. Interviewing, supervision, training, and evaluation of RA staff.
