TOMORROW’S HOPE FOUNDATION
Long Island, NY
Tomorrow’s Hope Foundation (http://www.tomorrowshopefoundation.org/): Since 2004, Tomorrow’s Hope Foundation has touched the lives of thousands of Catholic school students and their families in the Diocese of Rockville Centre. Within the Diocese, which comprises Nassau and Suffolk counties, over 22,000 elementary school students are being educated in 57 Catholic elementary schools. However, the significance of financial aid in the tightening Long Island economy cannot be overstated. Tomorrow’s Hope Foundation enables many of these families to realize their dreams of a Catholic education for their children by distributing scholarships to students and families with financial need.
The mission of Tomorrow’s Hope Foundation is to ensure the excellence as well as the continuance of Catholic Schools on Long Island by increasing awareness and by providing scholarship and program funding for the needs of students and schools. The Foundation has made an extraordinary difference. To date, Tomorrow’s Hope Foundation has distributed more than $8.4 million in aid to more than 6,100 qualifying students. Across the nation, Catholic elementary schools are closing at alarming rates, but since the inception of Tomorrow’s Hope Foundation, not one Diocesan elementary school in the Dioceses of Rockville Centre has closed.
