Event Coordinator of Latinos por la Vida (LXV) and Corazon Puro (CP)
Corazo n Puro (CP)
Corazo n Puro started in 2008 as a sacramental-based formation/preparation for inner city and at risk youth and young adults. It is based in the South Bronx and strives to bring dynamic teachings in English and Spanish. In light of the incredible dearth of relevant resources geared toward our given demographic–particularly addressing hispanic culture and language, Corazo n Puro strives to bridge this gap. CP’s programming is aimed at bringing about a Culture of Life targeting some of the core issues in the areas of dignity, sexuality, mission and marriage. We do this through our monthly meetings and lectures, retreats, and missions in the local, national, and international level. In addition, CP leads and collaborates in other initiatives and events.
Latinos por la Vida (LXV)
LXV is a coalition of organizations that intent on responding to the urgent need to unify and mobilize latinos in the pro-life movement. Our aim is to inform and involve Latinos while shaping new leaders in the pro-life movement. We are a people of family and culture, it is time to protect those values!
The Event coordinator will help develop and implement the mission of Corazo n Puro by working with the Program Director, the Corazon Puro committees and the Latinos por la Vida Advisory committee in organizing special events (Namely the LXV conference and the CP Gala)

Responsible for managing Latinos por La Vida and Corazon Puro special events and ensuring deadlines and budgets are adhered to. Directs coordination of activities to prepare for the day of the event.
Manage staff responsible for event coordination activities.
Coordinate details of events such as conferences, charity events,business meetings, employee appreciation events and virtual events.
Hire, train, and educate staff on proper event procedures.
Calculate budgets and adjust when necessary.
Book venues and negotiate fees.
Prepare invitations and send out at appropriate time.
Hire bartenders and wait staff.
Work with guest of honor to ensure all requests are met.
Drive attendance to the event.
Promote the event using flyers, cold calling, and social media as examples of ways to spark attention.
Analyze event performance and prepare metrics presentation.
Define company brand through events.
Ensure staff is adequately prepared for event.
Pay vendors for their participation in the event.
Provide receipts if needed.
Ensure day of event goes smoothly.
Set up booths, flowers, decorations, and other event decor.
Plan menus, order food, and hire chefs or caterers.
Sample food, including main dishes and desserts.
Give final approval for items such as music and menus.
Committed to live, and ability to articulate, the teachings of the Catholic Church.
Commitment to the mission of CP
Strong leadership experience and abilities.
Strong social and interpersonal skills.
Independent worker and thinker who can provide both vision and execution.
Must be fluent in Spanish (reading and writing)
Compensation: $18 per hour/ 20 hours a week (Leading up to events this position will be expected to put in the necessary hours to meet deadlines)
