DIRECTOR, OFFICE OF HISPANIC MINISTRY

The Diocese of Grand Rapids is seeking a full-time Director of Hispanic Ministry who is dedicated to new and creative ways to foster the full, active participation and integration of Hispanics in the life of the church. The successful candidate will support the pastors and parishes who currently serve Hispanic parishioners as well as broaden the support provided to the Hispanic community throughout the diocese. The director is also charged with coordinating the ministry to migrants and their families and for providing oversight and guidance for Hispanic faith groups within the diocese.
The director must play a key role in diocesan planning involving Hispanic Catholics and be able to carry out plans already in progress. Working closely with other ministries within the Office of Pastoral Services, the director will participate in planning and work collaboratively to support new initiatives in areas such as RCIA, Liturgy, Respect Life, Marriage and Family Life, Catechesis, and Youth ministry.
Fluency in in both Spanish and English is required. The candidate must be an active practicing Catholic, faithful to the Church’s magisterium who has a commitment to their faith life and is thoroughly knowledgeable in Scripture, the Catechism and in all Church documents. A Master’s degree in theology, pastoral ministry or related field is required. The director must have experience in creating and implementing pastoral planning initiatives and possess strong leadership skills and the proven ability to work as a member of a team.
