St. Joseph in Fayetteville Seeking Director of Youth Ministry
The Director of Youth Ministry is a vital role within the parish, requiring passion for engaging teens in Christian formation. The youth director must be able to connect with the youth on an interpersonal level, communicate with parents, and be a role model of Catholic life. The successful candidate will work effectively in team situations, as well as possess administrative, leadership and coordination skills. This includes basic budgeting, motivating others, working with the pastor, the parish staff, volunteers and parents. The youth director who displays a passion for Christ and for youth will empower young people to live as disciples of Jesus Christ in the world today.

Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in youth ministry.
Experience: Three-plus years applicable work experience with formal youth ministry training, especially with youth ministry leadership, knowledge of educational methods and current youth ministry resources; music skills a plus.
Computer skills: Must be internet proficient – including Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, etc. – and particularly competent with Microsoft Office applications.
Communication skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills required, as well as thorough familiarity with today’s youth culture.
Time commitment: Full-time position, with a somewhat flexible schedule, including regular weekday office hours and significant work time on nights and weekends. Travel includes 3-5 trips annually (mission trips, retreats, training and regional outings).
