DIRECTOR OF YOUTH MINISTRY AND EVANGELIZATION
Youth Ministry, FT Employee
Transfiguration Catholic Church (Blythewood, SC)
Are you on fire with love of Christ and sharing him with others?
I am a young Catholic priest, very faithful to the Church’s teachings and enthusiastic about youth ministry and evangelization. I need someone who shares my enthusiasm for sharing Christ with people of all ages, especially the youth.
We are a small, relatively new parish of about 300 families, in a rapidly growing area of Columbia, SC. We have reached the point where we can no longer adequately serve our youth through volunteers alone. We need someone who can work with me and the community to build up our middle school and high school youth groups, helping the students to fall in love with Jesus and accompany them on their faith journey.
The job will be a full-time position with two aspects. The primary job will be as the youth minister for high school and middle school (20-25 hours in a normal week). The rest of a given work week would be spent helping me to develop and execute different initiatives to deepen the faith life within our parish, as well as our efforts to share the faith outside of our parish.
Qualities that I am looking for:
- A strong personal prayer life and relationship with Jesus.
- A solid understanding of the Catholic faith.
- A heart for youth ministry.
- Enthusiasm for sharing the faith with others in creative ways.
A degree in youth ministry or catechesis is not necessarily needed if the above qualities are there. We would be offering pay that matches the importance we place on youth ministry and evangelization. Please call or write for more information.
