Position: Director of the Catechist Formation Program
Department: Office of Catechetics
Reports to: Provost/Vice President for Academics

Aquinas College seeks a Director for its Catechist Formation Program (CFP). The CFP offers a systematic and comprehensive formation program that prepares catechists to hand on the Catholic faith. The CFP is based on the Catechism of the Catholic Church and provides an integrated program of instruction, study, and reflection that equips catechists with the knowledge and skills necessary for catechetical ministry in the name of the Church. The program is offered and administered through participating dioceses and is designed to lead to certification by the diocese. The Director oversees all aspects of the Catechist Formation Program and assists in the planning and implementation of other programs and initiatives of the Office of Catechetics at Aquinas College.

* Maintain regular communications with diocesan representatives in participating dioceses;
* Collaborate with diocesan representatives in planning and scheduling training sessions;
* Prepare catechetical lessons and present at live sessions in participating dioceses;
* Oversee online program option and assist in adapting and implementing online courses;
* Recruit, mentor, and evaluate program faculty;
* Prepare annual budgets and budget agreements;
* Keep accurate financial records and review financial reports;
* Assist in the planning and execution of the annual Nashville Catechetical Conference;
* Serve as a resource to the dioceses served by the CFP;
* Serve as a resource to Aquinas College and assist in the development of Catechetics courses;
* Work with Aquinas College marketing and communications in promoting CFP;
* Assist in the maintenance and updating of the Office of Catechetics website.

* Commitment to the mission of Aquinas College and the Catholic intellectual tradition;
* Master’s degree in Theology, with specialization and/or experience in Catechetics;
* Teaching experience in a Catholic school or parish religious education program;
* Experience in post-secondary education and/or adult faith formation;
* Availability for evening and weekend travel and presentations (approximately 15 weeks per year)
* Excellent oral and written communication skills;
* Basic bookkeeping and record-keeping skills;
* Proficiency in PowerPoint/Keynote software; familiarity with online learning platforms helpful.
