DIRECTOR OF MARKETING
Marketing/Advertising, FT Employee
Sophia Institute (Manchester, NH)
The Director of Marketing will be responsible for overseeing all marketing, advertising and promotional activities of the Institute and for developing strategies to meet organizational objectives. Essential duties and responsibilities include:
–Work in collaboration with Sophia staff in developing a comprehensive marketing plan aimed at the Press’s broad base of various constituents.
–Strengthen, manage, and implement the Institute’s social media strategies.
–Work closely with the editors of Crisis Magazine and Catholic Exchange to expand readership and reach.
–Develop marketing campaigns for each new title or groups of titles working within the overall marketing plan.
–Review results against targets, report on successful campaigns, and offer feedback into future strategies.
–Implement and manage marketing budget, ensuring that strategic objectives are met within the allocated budget.
–Identify key conference opportunities and attend special sales events such as conventions conferences, and author workshops.
–Work collaboratively with the graphic designer to produce promotional materials as needed.
–Oversee the writing of press releases, copy for marketing materials, advertisements, and other related material.
–Build relations with key stakeholders in the media and publishing world to maximize Sophia’s marketing efforts.
–Keep up-to-date with key trends and developments in the publishing, bookselling, and marketing world, and in the Catholic market place, to ensure all work is informed with the most recent information and expertise.
–Perform related work as required.
Sophia Institute Press is seeking an individual with marketing experience and with a desire and willingness to grow a proven organization. The ideal candidate will have:

–Marketing experience in a publishing institution or other proven leadership experience.
–Excellent organizational, speaking, and written skills.
–Ability to think strategically about Sophia’s marketing efforts and to translate those efforts into sales.
