General Description:
The Director of Institutional Advancement is responsible for developing, planning and executing a comprehensive fund development program in alignment with the Board’s Development Committee’s plan. This includes the areas of: grants, donations, social media and events. The Director will use best business practices in all development efforts including: grant writing, solicitation of major gifts, donor cultivation, social media endeavors and orchestrating special events to achieve the organization’s fundraising goals.

• Works closely with the Board’s Development Committee to achieve the levels of funding established in the annual budget
• Researches grant opportunities from various sources and matches opportunities with needs; coordinates grant writing and submission; cultivates relationships; coordinates reporting
• Develops, plans and executes the “Annual Giving” campaign
• Solicits major gifts from individuals, corporations and foundations, consistent with MNM’s values and mission
• Plans and coordinates all fundraising events; achieving levels of profitability as set in the annual Development Plan
• Ensures that website is current and relevant and that it meets development, marketing and client needs
• Ability to use social media to fundraise
• Develops relationships with press and media; sends and posts timely and frequent press releases to keep press, media and social outlets informed of ongoing accomplishment, newsworthy information and events
• Orchestrates preparation and dissemination of monthly newsletter
• Attends events to promote MNM’s mission
• Supports MNM’s community initiatives with neighbors, partners, affiliates, schools, and volunteers
• Participates in the Administrative Team
• Has a working knowledge of the Strategic Plan and works towards attaining the goals set forth in the document

1) Education and Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in business, communications or related field.
• Experience in Public Relations, Development and Fundraising.
• Experience with fundraising software.
