Job Description:

The primary responsibility of the Director of Hispanic Ministry is to serve as the key individual for visioning, integrating, and administrating the ministerial needs of the Hispanic community at St Raphael Catholic Church, ensuring that their talents, resources, culture, and faith are incorporated into the life of the parish. This is a full-time position in Springdale, Arkansas.

Requirements:

The candidate must be Latino fluent in both Spanish and English, and be active practicing Catholic, who is faithful to the Church’s teaching and has a commitment to the faith life. Some experience in pastoral planning, catechesis and visioning would be helpful. Night and weekend work is required.

General Responsibilities:

1. Promote and implement Hispanic Ministry within the parish.
2. Serve as a voice for the Hispanic community at St. Raphael in regards to the diocese and deanery.
3. Collaborate closely with the pastor in supporting the ongoing formation of Hispanics in the parish.
4. Serve as Director of PRE in Spanish
5. Assist the pastor by putting in place a Hispanic Ministry Team to possibly include: 1) Youth Coordinator 2) Coordinator of RICA/Adult Education 3) Coordinator of Family Ministries and 4) Coordinator of Liturgical Ministries.
6. Collaborate closely with the above coordinators in setting the direction and guidelines of the programs and overseeing the implementation of these ministries.
7. Serve as the chair of the Hispanic Ministry Team which will include the above coordinators, pastor and possibly other appointed parish representatives in assessing the needs and vision of the Hispanic Ministry at St. Raphael.
8. Since this is a new position, an openness to adjust to whatever responsibilities the pastor sees necessary.

Education:

Masters degree in theology is preferred, but a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Theology or equivalent certification

Experience:

Three or more years of experience in Hispanic ministry in a parish

Salary and Benefits:

Commensurate with education and experience with a minimum of $40,000 annually for salary and benefits. (229)
