The Director of Curriculum and Staff Development assists the Principal and Assistant Principal in evaluating teachers both formally and informally; in providing assistance to new teachers; in devising and executing avenues to include staff, students and parents in evaluating and developing curriculum; in setting up staff development activities and in-services based upon a needs assessment; in completing the annual AdvancEd report; and by serving as Chair of the AdvancEd In-School Committee. The Director is responsible for setting the agenda and conducting the academic council meetings; maintaining the course description booklet; maintaining the teacher’s class expectations, revising current and adopting new courses; and the selection of their respective textbooks and supplemental materials; he/she oversees the development and coordination of the summer reading list. In conjunction with the Principal, the Director is responsible for the master schedule, and the maintenance of the PowerSchool on-line grade program.
