DIRECTOR OF CAMPUS MINISTRY
Youth Ministry, FT Employee
Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin School (Chardon, OH)
“We know well that with Jesus life becomes richer and that with him it is easier to find meaning in everything.”
To help our students experience the fullness of life that Pope Francis so beautifully describes, Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin School seeks a faith-filled, dynamic, creative, and organized person to love, accompany, support, and challenge our students as they enthusiastically respond to Jesus’ call to “Come, follow me.”
Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin is a thriving coeducational Catholic secondary school sponsored by the Sisters of Notre Dame in Chardon, Ohio, about 30 minutes east of Cleveland. The school enrolls 700 students from six northeastern Ohio counties.
Our next Director of Campus Ministry will demonstrate an imaginative, compelling vision for inspiring and forming young people with the Roman Catholic Church’s teaching, practice, prayer, community, and commitment to justice. He or she will also demonstrate the professional expertise to implement and infuse this vision in all dimensions of school life.
With the assistance of an experienced full-time campus minister, the Director of Campus Ministry will lead these specific programs and initiatives:
LITURGY AND PRAYER, including planning all-school and small group liturgies and prayer services, training students for liturgical roles, coordinating with music ministers and others, and developing creative ways to celebrate and foster a vibrant Catholic culture through prayer, ritual, and symbol.
RETREATS, including small and large group retreats for students in all grade levels. A popular Kairos retreat program offers three-night experiences for juniors and seniors.
SERVICE, including short-term and long-term experiences to help students explore the richness and responsibilities of Catholic social teaching. The school seeks to expand the breadth and depth of service opportunities for our students.
The ideal candidate will have education and experience that align with the responsibilities described above.
Start date for this full-time, 10-month position is August 4, 2014. Salary will be commensurate with education and experience. The position includes a comprehensive benefits package.
