Sisters of the Divine Compassion (White Plains, NY)

Director of Institutional Advancement: to advance the mission of the religious congregation Sisters of the Divine compassion which states that “empowered by God’s love to be the compassionate presence of God…to build communities that transform ourselves and our world.” Responsibilities of the director include: directing the entire scope of develop/fund-raising programs and activities, including major gift solicitation; articulating the mission and vision of the sisters; providing leadership by establishing procedures, processes, and the organizational structure of implementing various facets of fund-raising activities that respond to the present and future needs of the congregation, including formulating and defining the goals of the office, integrating various fund-raising methods; selecting, supervising, and evaluating staff members; maintaining operational and budgetary needs, working closely with the Leadership Team, HR, and Finance offices; developing appropriate reporting and communications processes to assure accountability to leadership, membership and donors. Professional requirements: Bachelor’s degree; minimum of 5 years fund-raising experience; leadership/managerial experience; familiarity with Catholic culture and religious life; understanding mission-focused/donor-centered fundraising; excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills; ability to work with others, build teams, delegate appropriately; computer literacy (working knowledge of raiser’s edge); creative ability to expand the existing fund-raising activities to bring them to a level that furthers the overall success of the office of advancement.
