Diocese of Dallas, St. Francis of Assisi in Frisco Blessed With New Priest Today

June 13, 2009

Dallas, TX (MetroCatholic) – Rev. Mr. Vincent Anyama will be ordained to the priesthood today, June 13, in the Diocese of Dallas. “Fr. Vincent” as he will be known following his joyous ordination will be assigned to St. Francis of Assisi in Frisco beginning July 24.

Msgr. Larry Pichard, Pastor of St. Francis, urged parishioners to attend the ordination. In a message to parishioners, Msgr. Pichard said, “We parishioners of St. Francis are really being honored by Bishop Farrell who is putting his confidence in us. Many studies have shown that a priest’s first few years in a parish determine the success of his priesthood. If a young priest has a negative experience in his first assignment, chances are high that he will not remain a priest. But if he has positive experiences in his first assignment, he will be a valuable, holy, enthusiastic priest for the rest of his life. We are blest to be entrusted with the mission of training him to be a pastoral priest, of loving him and supporting him, of showing him a dynamic, growing, caring parish!”

More information regarding “Fr. Vincent” is available at the Diocese of Dallas Vocation website.
