Design/Production Editor

Chicago-based Claretian Publications seeks Design/Production Editor for U.S. Catholic magazine and At Home with Our Faith newsletter.

This position is responsible for high-quality layout and page production of U.S. Catholic and At Home with Our Faith, as well as graphic design needs as they arise. The Design/Production Editor is a highly skilled and experienced individual who is fluent in Adobe’s CS5 programs and well grounded in the requirements of final turnovers to printers. This staff member also must be skilled in schedule and process development-including the structure, monitoring, coordination, and revision-for the production stages of the two publications. The position must be able to manage and complete multiple projects and schedules simultaneously, to meet strict production deadlines, and to collaborate closely with the editorial teams in defining the concept development and the execution of the right creative content to match specific editorial content.

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in graphic design or related field. 4-6 years experience in graphic design/production. Advanced, excellent skills in InDesign and Photoshop. Experience in Illustrator and web design a plus. Familiarity with Catholic culture a plus.
