Maintenance/Trades, FT Employee
Church of the Nativity (Burke, VA)
Salary: Based on experience
Experience needed: 5 years or more of commercial/residential custodial experience. Physically able to lift at least 40 lbs for required activities. Flexible in availability to accommodate the schedule of school activities. Maintenance experiences a plus – minor electrical, plumbing, painting, and drywall repairs.
Technical experience: General custodial – dusting, vacuuming, trash removal, mopping, sweeping, snow shoveling (porches, sidewalks as necessary). Annually clean and buff tile floors. Other item(s) assigned by Trustees or Lead Pastor.
The incumbent must have:
a) Custodial experience – regularly perform cleaning of all rooms listed on schedule. If able, perform minor electrical, plumbing, painting, or drywall repairs. Or must report issues to maintenance supervisor in timely manner.
b) Transportation – have reliable transportation to work each day
c) Clear written and verbal communication skills – Spanish speaking a plus.
d) Supply/record management skills – maintain accurate repair records and supplies. Proactive in communicating supply needs and maintaining physical inventory.
e) Customer service – provide outstanding customer service to internal and external customer. Ability to discuss and prioritize issues and resolution timeframes with Maintenance supervisor, pastor, and staff as required.
