The Diocese of Allentown is seeking a full-time Coordinator of Youth Ministry to begin immediately to implement a comprehensive program for three Berks County Catholic parishes (St. Benedicts, St. Catharine’s, and St. Johns). The Coordinator of Youth Ministry will develop, promote, and implement eight components of youth ministry from “Renewing the Vision” for 9th-12th grades. The Coordinator of Youth Ministry will work closely with parish staff to collaborate on youth programs for high school age teenagers.
Qualified candidates should have a Bachelor’s Degree in Religious Education, Theology, or a related field and some formal training in Youth Ministry. Experience in working with youth in a parish or high school setting is a must. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and proficiency with technology and social media are required.
Candidates will be practicing Catholics who radiate a strong personal relationship with Jesus and the Church and have theological perspectives consistent with the doctrines and traditions of the Catholic Church programs.
Candidates should demonstrate a sense of parish ministry and an ability to give witness to the Catholic faith. Applicants need the skills to recruit, train, and assemble volunteer teams of parents and others to assist with Youth Ministry efforts. This multi-parish setting requires ability to be a team member and the ability to collaborate with the pastoral leadership of the member parishes.
