COORDINATOR FOR CHILDRENS’ CATECHESIS AND CURRICULUM

The Coordinator oversees and provides resources for the teaching of the faith to children grades K-8 through implementation of the religion curriculum Forming Disciples for the New Evangelization and its aligned Faith Knowledge Assessment. This position is also responsible for gathering and entering the annual Parish Catechetical Profile and Safe Environment Reporting data (ensuring compliance with safe environment policies) and producing an annual data report. The Coordinator oversees catechist formation and certification in collaboration with the Events office by offering adequate training opportunities for parish catechists to grow in their faith and more confidently implement the archdiocesan curriculum. The Coordinator is responsible for recording and assessing high school curriculums and conformity with USCCB Framework. This position maintains lists of approved textbooks for school and parish programs.
Masters degree in Religious Education, Edcuation (with additional studies in Theology or Religious Studies) or Theology.
At least two (2) years of experience in catechesis or evangelization. Candidate must be knowledgeable of and committed to the teachings of the Catholic Church and the vision of the New Evangelization: excellent knowledge of the faith, complete orthodoxy and a lifestyle that complements that faith.
Need knowledge of basic teaching methods and standard, curriclum and assesment for elementary and high school age students.
Valid drivers licence and vehicle required.
Advanced skills with MS Office including Word, Excel and PowerPoint required. Must be able to learn and work with web-based software systems. The ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing is essential along with excellent organizational and people skills. (0)
