Bay Ridge Regional Planning Council (RCDOB) (Brooklyn, NY)
The Bay Ridge Regional Planning Council for Academies (BRPC) is currently looking to hire a creative and skilled coordinator on a consultant/contractor basis.
The role will require an experienced person with excellent administrative and communication skills to coordinate the work of the three Catholic Academies in the Bay Ridge area of Brooklyn. Duties include; collaborating with the Boards to implement area wide marketing, recruiting and retention, and, enrichment of academic programs; preparing and presenting the annual reports. This is a 3 year contract.
• Coordinate the work of the Bay Ridge Regional Planning Council (BRPC), including all correspondence, meetings and initiatives proposed by its Members
• In collaboration with the Board of Directors of each member Academy:
o Help design and implement a three-year area wide marketing plan that will complement and coordinate the local marketing efforts that remain the responsibility of each local academy Board.
o Help design and implement an area wide plan for the recruitment and retention of students
o Seek to develop and implement the addition and enrichment of both academic resources and programs to be shared in all three academies
o Engage Xaverian High School and Fontbonne High School to introduce shared programs and resources in all three academies
• The Coordinator will also be asked to investigate and propose the introduction of new programs in the area academies. Among such possible programs include a program designed for children with special needs or a gifted program for middle school students.
• In collaboration with the Board of Directors of each member Academy, the Coordinator will present:
o An annual review of the financial viability of each academy to the BRPC
o An Annual Report to both the Board of Directors and the Members of each participating academy and to the Superintendent of Schools on the work of the BRPC
Master’s Degree and previous experience with Board Governance and Board Development is required. Demonstrated awareness of key national and Catholic Church documents related to governance models and their effectiveness is required.
