Petrus Development, LLC seeks to empower organizations to create and sustain effective fund development programs. Focusing on Catholic organizations, Petrus works with a wide array of clients located from New England to California. Our consultants emphasize long-term, sustainable development programs, working with clients to formulate a strategic vision for the future, document a plan of action, and implement systems and structures to attract financial support for operations, capital projects and endowments.

As a vital member of the Petrus team, the Consultant will collaborate to implement effective service, helping create effective fund development programs.
Responsibilities Include:

• General
Work to fulfill the mission of Petrus Development
Comply with Petrus Development policies
Provide timely, quality communications to home office
Adhere to the Code of Ethical Principles and Standards of Professional Practice of the Association of Fundraising
Monitor client expenses as it relates to Petrus service
Coordinate and arrange travel schedules as necessary
Assist with all Petrus related client service, sales, and other tasks assigned by management
Establish and maintain consistent client communication
Communicate with consulting team to more effectively serve the client
Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with clients
Stay abreast of changes in the non-profit arena that impact Petrus clients
Support marketing and sales activities
Maintain working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Outlook, Word, Excel); electronic presentation skills, donor database skills or aptitude to learn – such as e-Tapestry; video ; and other technology as needed.
Extensive travel is required
Must live close to major airport

• Development Programs and Capital Campaigns
Work with clients to create operative materials in support of development efforts, including proposals, letters of intent, marketing materials, etc.
Gather information and assist in the creation of the Case for Support
Gather information and assist in the creation of development plans
Collect and analyze data to create measurable objectives of success for clients
Assist in the formulation of strategic conclusions and recommendations
Assist in the creation and presentation of regular consulting reports
Participate in the annual and major gift solicitation process
Conduct interviews of board members, staff, benefactors, and critical local leaders
Tabulate interview responses and create charts explicated with narrative analysis of findings
Assist in the creation and presentation of the Campaign Planning Study report
Experience and Skills:
• Catholic
• 2 -5 years non-profit development fund-raising experience AND Catholic Campus Ministry experience
• Ability to interact effectively with clergy, lay staff, volunteers, and donors
• Strong written, verbal, and electronic communication skills
• Strong listening skills
• Ability to lead and persuade
• Bachelor’s degree required
• Strong work ethic – proven ability to “go above and beyond”
• Positive attitude and the ability to stay flexible in a fast paced, changing environment
